Drug Uses

Sinequаn is used for treating depression or anxiety in certain patients. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How to use

Use Sinequаn as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
Sinequаn comes with an extra patient information sheet called a Medication Guide. Read it carefully. Read it again each time you get Sinequаn refilled.
Take Sinequаn by mouth with or without food.
Taking Sinequаn at bedtime may help reduce side effects (eg, daytime drowsiness). Discuss this possibility with your doctor.

Drug Class and Mechanism

Sinequаn is a tricyclic antidepressant. It is not known exactly how it works. It may increase the activity of certain chemicals in the brain, which help elevate mood.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Zyvоx, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Storage

Sinequаn should be stored below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) in a tight, light resistant container.
Warnings/Precautions

Do NOT use Sinequаn if:

you are allergic to any ingredient in Sinequаn or to other tricyclic antidepressants
you have certain prostate problems (eg, asymptomatic prostatic hypertrophy), glaucoma, or trouble urinating
you are taking clonidine, an H1 antagonist (eg, astemizole, terfenadine), or ibutilide, or you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (eg, furazolidone, phenelzine, isocarboxazid) within the past 14 days

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
